Dan is a US Army veteran and current photojournalism student at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
He is interested mostly in photojournalism work, documentary photography, street photography and photo editing. His approach is humanistic in nature; seeking to understand the subject and the people involved as much as making photographs. For this reason, subjects like identity, poverty, politics and conflict have been the focus of his work thus far.
Formerly a student of newspaper journalism, Dan became enamored with the storytelling power of still images and video in late-2017. He currently works as a photographer and photo editor for Syracuse University’s student-run newspaper, The Daily Orange, and is finishing up an internship at The Wall Street Journal as a photo editor.
He will be available for freelance work in Central and Upstate New York beginning in late-August 2019.
